About Lyon Wine Tastings

A Taste of Lyon, Without Leaving the City
Lyon Wine Tastings was founded in 2018 with one simple goal: to make France’s most legendary wines accessible to travelers—without the need for a rental car or a long day in the countryside.

With Beaujolais, Burgundy, and the Northern Rhône just beyond the city limits, Lyon is uniquely positioned as the gateway to some of the world’s greatest wine regions. But most visitors only have a few days here.
That’s where we come in. Our tastings bring the best of the vineyards to you, all in one educational, delicious, and memorable experience—right in the heart of the city.

Lyon Wine Tastings Team
Meet Your Sommelier, Margaret-Rose

Margaret-Rose is the heart of our tastings—a warm, animated host with a background in education and a true passion for storytelling. Originally from Wisconsin, she’s a certified sommelier with a deep knowledge of French wines and a love for connecting people to the history and culture in every glass.

She holds the Wine & Spirits Education Trust Level 2 and the French Wine Scholar certification, and brings her past life as a high school teacher into every session: full of insight, joy, and approachability.
Meet Our Founder, Caroline Fazeli
Behind the scenes, Caroline Fazeli —our founder and an acclaimed wine educator with the WSET Diploma and French Wine Scholar—runs the business, curates the wine selections, and leads larger events, corporate tastings, and private vineyard tours. Caroline is better known for her content as @winedinecaroline on Instagram.

THE WINES
We choose all of my wines for their quality and typicity.

We source our wines directly from the vineyards or trusted local merchants, and work with small, artisan winemakers.

Our winemakers are committed to sustainability and the environment.

Our cellar is dynamic and always changing!

THE CHEESE
Cheeses come from Fromagerie d'Austerlitz, right around the corner.
We serve you local cheeses to go with your local wines.
You can expect nutty aged Comté, smooth St Felicien, and more.

THE MEAT
We only serve you the best, and am proud to work with Charcuterie Sibilia.

Widely acknowledged as the best charcuteur in Lyon, Maison Sibilia has been at the heart of Lyon's soul and kitchens since 1922.

BREAD
We get fresh bread from local artisan bakeries every morning.
Our favorite bakeries include Les Artistes, Copains d'Antan, and Partisan.
We choose slow fermented, sourdough breads because they taste better and they're better for us.
